"For the past months, Israeli settlers have been on a rampage, setting fires to Palestinian farmland all over the West Bank. These arson attacks happen every couple of days, sometimes every day, all over the West Bank. But the olives that you see behind me, the ones that were burned just two days ago, weren't burned by the settlers. They were burned by the Israeli army, who shot flares into the Palestinian-owned olive trees to burn down their produce. It's very clear that what we're seeing is a systematic and deliberate strategy, coordinated between the settler movement and the Israeli army. Together, trying to economically damage Palestinians, burn their hills and villages and farmland, in order to try to push them off their land as much as possible before the next Israeli election, which is coming in just a few months. The fires were set right next to the apartheid wall, and hundreds of trees have been burned. They may look like they're still alive, but they have been burned and they will die, erasing essentially thousands of years of olive trees since they've lived for a very long time."
