Two years ago Plymouth voted for change. Here’s just some of the things the Labour government has done in the past two years for Plymouth .
"Two years ago, Plymouth voted for change, and that's exactly what our city's got. In the last few months alone, £400m being invested in Plymouth thanks to a Labour government. Free breakfast clubs in our primary schools, more free childcare so families get to keep more of their hard-earned cash, NHS waiting lists falling, five million more NHS appointments, more police and PCSOs on our streets, and more action to tackle violence against women and girls. And we're fixing what was broken, a new community diagnostic centre in the city centre, a second one that will be built soon, a new dental hub, and we funded the emergency department extension at Derriford Hospital. And in Devonport, the biggest story of all, £4.4bn for new submarine dogs. Submarine work secured until 2017. A new global capability centre right in the heart of our city, 2,000 jobs here. And more autonomy, the National Centre for Marine Autonomy, more jobs, more opportunities, more businesses being established in the heart of our city to support our Royal Navy and Royal Marines. Plymouth is a city on the up. Look, I'm not done yet, we're not done yet, not even close. In fact, we're just getting started."
