Another mini tutorial on gradients with markers! In areas where the shadows are soft I use this method, where they’re sharper I let the paper dry and then go in with my darker tones! The same colour can produce two different looks #furryart
"described it before but I don't know if I described it well so how I get all my gradients when you're using alcohol markers is you don't grab your around about three tones you can do it that's just two so you can do it in two you do it for you do in five if you want to there is about five on here you want to grab your lightest tone and you see instead of being like well that it's light and then I will blend my middle in and then I will blend my darker one in you see you will get you'll get this disconnect you'll get this line and yeah it will blend a little bit but what you want to do really is you want to get your lightest tone and you want to lay that on the whole object because it can sort of wet the paper you can see the paper go a little bit dark it will dry lighter and then you want to work in with your middle tone and then push it down a little bit and then you want to get your darkest tone you're going to do the same with that you're going to use strokes in and strokes down and because we've wet the paper all the way down we don't get this disconnect in the colors we get a full gradient top to bottom which is what I've done here which is what I'm trying to do on the face and you have to work quite fast with a Copic marker or any alcohol marker because alcohol markers dry quite fast so make sure you pick not too thick of a paper but something around 220 GSM and you can start getting these nice gradients in"
