"Okay, this Iran situation just keeps escalating. There are more U.S. strikes on Iran tonight, some of the biggest that we've seen yet since prior to that so-called ceasefire. We're talking strikes across at least six coastal towns, Bandar Abbas, Gesham Island, Boucher, Chabahar, Sirik, Qanarq, plus reported explosions in Jask and Abu Musa Island. Apologies if my pronunciation is not perfect. Footage shows Boucher's IRGC barracks on fire, Chabahar's port traffic control towers destroyed. The first time that area's been hit since the ceasefire. These strikes are actually bigger than initially reported and specifically targeting coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile sites, and IRGC command and control. One national security expert pointed out that these are exactly the kind of targets that you would hit if you were clearing the way for Marines to potentially seize islands like Gesham and Karg in the Gulf. That's a serious escalation if that's accurate. This follows the U.S. strikes yesterday which were in response to Iran firing on multiple ships using the unauthorized Omani route in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran shot down a U.S. drone earlier in MQ-9 worth about $34 million. Iran's foreign minister, Aragchi, posted that addressing, quote, "'The civilized and courageous nation of Iran with derogatory language does not diminish its greatness and that Iran answers vulgarity with action, not vulgarity.'" He's also pointing to paragraph 13 of the ceasefire agreement, arguing that negotiations cannot continue and here's where it just gets so stupid. After all this, Trump told reporters on Air Force One that Iran, quote, "'Called a little while ago. They want to make a deal,' but then said he doesn't know if they're worthy of one or if they'd honor it. He also said NATO offered to help with Iran and that it's, quote, "'Too late. They all want to go, but we really don't need the help.'" So he's now repeating the same lies that he has been saying for months after these latest attacks. We are again stuck in the same loop that we've been in since the war began. Meanwhile, the backdrop keeps getting worse. The U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve is now just 19 million barrels from minimum operating levels. Basically, no safety buffer left and the Pentagon is reportedly running low on money with Congress sitting on a $67 billion funding request, partly over frustration and not getting straight answers about this war. That's right, despite a $1 trillion budget, one trillion, the Pentagon is going broke. Trump is bankrupting the Defense Department like it's a Trump casino in Atlantic City. We'll keep tracking it all, so stay with us and listen to the Midas Touch podcast for more."
