"So Richard, what do you see as the two most significant strategic challenges facing our glass over the next five years? Well, one of the biggest challenges facing us will be the fact that the abuse of older people is still very much seen as a niche issue and we have to knock on an awful lot of doors before older victims of others are treated with any kind of parity in the domestic abuse sector or in the age sector generally. So our biggest challenge is to find parity, to ensure that older victims are treated the same as every other generation and therefore shine a light on this hidden area of abuse. I think the other big challenge or the second strategic challenge is to ensure that institutional abuse is seen as a more relevant issue because our glass as a charity for many years has seen a rise in the amount of calls we get from people from their own homes. But actually another place where abuse happens is in institutions, care homes, mental health facilities, respite care. So we as an organization need to learn how to tackle that and how to work with the key players in the industry to make a difference. And how do you see us working with the key players in the industry? We need to open dialogue now and to ensure that those organizations can add us to their list of trusted partners so we can work hand in hand in trying to end abuse in institutions and make sure that older people are safe to live no matter where they choose to live."
