"I have faith in America. I have faith in you. Our democracy is going to make it through this because of you. Things have been pretty tough lately, from the direct erosion of basic human rights to the constant attacks on voters' ability to fully participate in our democracy. It's a lot, but I haven't lost hope. Even though it can feel like change is hopeless, what we do today will affect what happens tomorrow. And the thing that gives us hope at Voters Not Politicians is you. It's millions of Michiganders and Americans that we know want to do the right thing and are doing the right thing. We see it every day from our volunteers that put in countless hours to participate in direct democracy and pull other people in to the leaders that are ready to stand up with us to actually change the system so that voters' voices are not drowned out by rigged rules of the game and money in politics. We've got a lot more to do. So this Fourth of July, let's think about all of the challenges that this country has faced before and let's remember the millions of Americans in our history that fought for American democracy just like we are today. It's the same story. It's the same path. We're just the people that happen to be on it today. Happy Fourth of July, everyone!"
