"Who is a sahabi? There is a little bit of difference in ikhtilaf as to who exactly is a companion. Every individual, everyone around the Prophet ﷺ had a very unique personality. But their impact manifested in different ways. So you don't have to be a famous individual to create an impact. At Ka'ab, the lineage of Saeed ibn Zayt meets the lineage of Rasulullah ﷺ. And it's important for us to actually know about our own lineage, enough for us to maintain ties of kinship. So his father was the famous Zayid ibn Amr, that he would be raised up as one man nation. He was known as Yahya al-Maw'udah. He would go and give life to all these girls who were to be buried alive. Fatima, the wife of Zayid ibn Zayt, was either the second or the third woman to accept Islam. Zayid ibn Zayt was actually rejected by Amr ibn Al-Khattab to become part of this shura. He always defended the honor of the sahaba. A person came in and he said something about Ali ibn Zayt. So Saeed ibn Zayt was sitting with him. He got super upset and he said, Mughira ibn Sha'bah is a big sahabi himself. When stuff was said about Ali ibn Zayt, why did he not say anything? Any person who opens their mouth against a sahaba ibn Zayt, we reject them. The question of the sahabi Rasul ﷺ making dua against somebody like this? Why?"
