"A former TNA Wrestling World Champion is reportedly done with the company, with past reports of interest from WWE. As previously reported, Mike Santana's contract with TNA Wrestling was set to expire in July, with WWE having an interest in securing the star's services. On June 28, Santana would lose the TNA World Championship to Nick Namath in the main event of Slammiversary. PWInsider has now revealed that TNA Wrestling sources have confirmed that Santana is now finished with the company, and was not part of the tapings for this week's impact, which took place in Albany, New York. The report goes on to note that WWE's interest in signing the star dates back to last year, with Santana having made a number of appearances on NXT, including challenging Trick Williams for the TNA World Championship in June of last year. More recently, Santana teamed with OTM, Bronco Nema and Lucien Price, beating Dark State, Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin and Shaquan Sugars, on the March 31 episode of NXT. Nema has gone on to join the rebirth peros del mal faction over in AAA. Santana would eventually capture the World Championship from Williams at TNA Bound for Glory in October 2025, holding the title until his loss to Frankie Kazarian in November, claiming it once again in January of this year."
