"I grew up watching the same great mob movies that I think everybody's seen, Godfather and Scarface and all of those. But even though I never prosecuted the mob, that is, I knew people from DOJ who did and I actually had three bosses that had played a very similar role in prosecuting the mob and say bosses, more mentors than anybody. They weren't doing that at the time, but people like Michael Chertoff, if you see the Fear City on Netflix, he's prominently noted there as taking down the five crime families in New York. I worked for him when he was secretary of DHS. And then I had a mentor who was dedicated the book to, David Margolis. He was the dean of the Justice Department. He was kind of the apolitical undercurrent there that kept everything going. He passed away several years ago. We've kind of seen what happens when you lose somebody like that at that agency. But he had been a part of the Organized Crime Strike Force, which is in the book. It no longer exists. They call it something different now. But he was one of the charter members.
