"We have some breaking and rather terrifying election news. Donald Trump just fired every commissioner on the Federal Elections Assistance Commission and the concern is whether he's doing this to muck with the upcoming election. These guys deal with things like voting machines and mail-in ballots and the concern is that there's a couple different things Trump might be doing here. One, simply creating chaos. You get rid of an organization whose main job it is to work with states to make elections run more smoothly and elections run less smoothly. You have more chaos, you have a greater chance for Trump to claim foul, to claim that an election was wrong, to claim that an election was rigged and then all of a sudden we don't know who to seat in the fall and when the president happens, the next presidential election, we don't know who to seat as president. That would be worst case scenario. In terms of practical impacts, could he mess with voter registration? One of the things these guys work on. Could he mess with voter machines? One of the things these guys work on. This is not good news that Donald Trump is doing this. We know Trump has been an election denier for years and has gotten more vocal recently. We know he keeps claiming that the elections are unfair. He is doing this for a reason. He is doing this because of something he's planning to do. And again, one of the things he tried to have these guys do is he tried to have them have a citizenship requirement for people registering to vote. Folks, this is incredibly dangerous news. He's planning something. This is not good."
