The June jobs report came in BELOW expectations. Even worse? Jobs were revised down the last two months by around 70,000. What about pay? Inflation outstripped pay growth so Americans are getting poorer ever month under Trump.
"The job market has proven pretty resilient. What do you make of that? Well, resilient might be a nice way to say stagnant. And I worked at the Department of Labor in the Biden administration. This is an issue I care passionately about. And this is not a good job report. Not only did this come in below expectations, they revised the last two months down 70,000 jobs. And if you look at the pay, that Americans are getting, it's 3.5% pay increase. That doesn't match inflation of 4.2%. So Americans are getting poorer every month under the Trump administration. And this is directly related to the Trump administration's own actions. You can look at when Trump instituted his tariffs on quote unquote liberation day. And since then, we've had almost net zero job creation. Last year in 2025, we created 150,000 jobs for the entire year. Under the Biden administration, we would create 150,000 jobs in a month. This is a slowdown caused by the tariffs. And then you all mentioned the Iran war. The Iran war certainly doesn't help. Moody's estimates that it's costing Americans $1,000 so far. And we haven't gotten gas prices down to where they were. So it's still costing Americans."
