"And so the media environment is kind of one piece of that ecosystem of making sure that coverage is diverse and strong and with integrity, that it's accessible to people. Due to the history of unequal infrastructures, where you don't have as much technological and infrastructure resources in the Global South, climate change will hit the Global South far harder. Nationally, there is no legislation that requires paid leave. And all the other developed countries, there is. So America is fractured, it's state by state, even at the state level, it's very weak. The basic assumption that companies, I think, have made most of the time, which is that when people, when their employees get pregnant, and usually they're thinking consciously or unconsciously about their women employees, that it's a problem for the company."
