"I'm letting residents know about important changes to waste collections that will affect our community. While these changes are being introduced by Birmingham City Council and as an MP I have no say. But it is important that everyone knows what to expect and how to prepare. From the start of the new service your general waste bin will be collected every two weeks instead of every week. Recycling will also be now collected fortnightly and food waste collected every week. Most households will receive new bins and food waste caddies before the changes begin. Using your food waste caddy for leftovers, fruits, vegetables, meat and other food scraps will help free up space in your general waste bin. Please keep your eye out for information from the council as your collection day may change. I'll continue listening to residents and holding the council to account to make sure these changes work for our community."
