"The federal government charged these 15 anti-ICE protesters for writing down ICE agents license plate numbers and setting up blockades. The Trump administration hoped to spread fear, and instead the community showed up. Here's who these people actually are. A union carpenter, a Buddhism professor, mutual aid organizers, a neighbor. All charged with conspiracy to impede or injure a federal officer. Up to six years in prison. Earlier this year, the Trump administration launched Operation Metro Surge. Thousands of federal officers were deployed to the Twin Cities. Over 4,000 arrests were made, and two US citizens were killed. In response, these 15 people wrote down ICE agents license plates. They used Signal to coordinate, and they helped set up blockades near the federal building on January 23rd and March 1st. The US Attorney General called it a violent conspiracy, then declined to say whether any agent was actually hurt, because none were. They're also being called ANTIFA, a label defense attorneys called a boogeyman invented by the far right. The point of all of this is to spread fear and divide us. And it's not working."
