"British politics is in a state of flux. Our latest Ipsos political monitor shows Labour closing the gap on Reform UK, with the gap down to just two points, with Reform on 26 and Labour on 24. So Reform's lead is narrowing. They had a seven point lead last month and a 15 point lead last November. And in other good news for Labour, the public say they prefer Andy Burnham as Prime Minister to Nigel Farage and Kemi Badenok, and are more likely to say that he has what it takes to be a good one. And yet the new Prime Minister will have his work cut out to convince a sceptical public. A majority of Britons say that they don't think the Labour government deserves to be re-elected. And four in ten both doubt Andy Burnham's ready to be Prime Minister or say they don't know if his government can deliver on key public priorities like the cost of living and immigration. So the jury is out. Andy Burnham will hope that his government is able to convince a sceptical public that his government can deliver in the way that those that have gone before him have not."
