"I'm afraid if I leave this family horrific things will happen to it, and I'm afraid for their lives. Through violence, through pogroms in which settlers burnt homes, injured Palestinians, and some of our volunteers. The shepherds here live in small communities and they're subject to severe violence from settlers and also, unfortunately, from the army. The Israeli security forces, meaning also the Israeli government, have issued a death sentence against that community. They haven't done what they could and should do to stop the terror coming from that place. I saw the settlers beating people, speeding on them, cutting power lines in the middle of the night just to ruin the lives of the Palestinians. This is taking place all across the West Bank. Soldiers and police that enable them and they're embedded together in this system. The pattern comes back in a way that can only be a policy. This is a part of what we're asking from you, is help them and help us be seen and heard by the world. If you care about human beings and about doing right in this world, you should try and speak and act however you can. It's a thundering command of Jewish history and of Torah. There can be a better reality here in Israel."
