"Hey folks, Peter Murawski here. I'm at the Benaroya Research Institute. I just wanted to share a little bit about how great AAI has been for my career. I actually joined for this meeting in 2012. Boston 2012 was my first International Meeting and it's shepherded me all the way through from graduate school, my post-docs, and now my faculty position here in Seattle. I think the number one thing that AAI has given to me is the opportunity to continue to interact with trainees and to help guide them through not only the process of being a better scientist but being involved in things related to science but sort of adjacent and outside of it. So I chair the subcommittee for the Public Policy Fellowship Program and we just came back from Washington D.C. to advocate to Congress for NIH funding and that was a really special experience. We had 10 exceptionally talented trainees and it was an excellent experience. So very glad that AAI does not just science but gives us the capacity to go outside of the realm of science and do policy and other important algorithms."
