Red, white and… Bristol. Here, the Fourth of July isn't just a holiday — it's a season. America's oldest continuous Fourth of July celebration is old-fashioned fun, flying the flag for community as well as for country.

"You know, when I go out in my red, white and blue outfits, people will be like, oh, you have a Fourth of July event? It's like, no, this is just my clothes. Like, I like wearing red, white and blue whenever. Plenty of small towns celebrate the Fourth of July. Here in Bristol, Rhode Island, they live it. They started just two years after the American Revolution ended, back in 1785. And they've been at it ever since. Even the double yellow line that rides down the middle of Hope Street turns into a red, white and blue line along the parade route. This is such a quaint New England town. And when I was a child, you'd get all decked out for the Fourth of July. I mean, my mom and I would have matching dresses. Red, white and blue, presumably. Red, white and blue. People who come to Bristol to celebrate the Bristol Fourth of July are here to celebrate together our freedoms. Everybody's red, white and blue. Everybody's red, white and blue."
