"So the Dodgers are going to the White House. According to Edward Lewis of the California Post, the team will visit the White House on July 23rd during a three-game series against the Phillies and a three-game set with the Mets on an East Coast road trip, a White House official told The Post. Quote-unquote, President Trump is excited to welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers back to the White House to celebrate their World Series Championship, White House spokesman Taylor Rogers said in a statement. But it looks like at least one player is not committing to going to the White House. We don't know if this is a form of protest or maybe he has something else scheduled. The reason behind it is not clear, but he did respond to a comment saying he will not be there. That player, of course, is Kike Hernandez, who has been vocal against the Trump administration in previous years. Mark Walter, the majority owner of the Dodgers, recently was in controversy because one of his investment companies, Guggenheim Partners, had to share his investments in the GEO private detention centers, which are one of the largest ICE detention centers operating in the country. Now we recently did report that Mark Walter's company, Guggenheim, did divest from those investments in the GEO group. Now Dodgers basically are saying that this is just a longstanding tradition of the champions to visit the White House. It's just an honor to be there. What do you guys think about this?"
