"Major new reporting right now as the United States is allegedly telling Poland that Russia is planning an attack on NATO, specifically on Poland, to test NATO's resolve. Such an attack could include Poland being targeted by a barrage of missiles, or even Russian soldiers crossing into Polish territory on land, essentially a ground invasion of Poland. This new reporting comes directly from Polish media, the outlet Onet, and it says that the United States is urgently warning Poland of a possible attack by Russia that would try to test NATO's resolve and try to give Russia leverage in negotiations in ending the war with Ukraine, all with the goal of pressuring Western allies to suspend military aid and assistance to Ukraine. If Russia were to go ahead and launch a conventional attack on Poland, that would trigger Article 5 of NATO. That would mean the United States would have to go in and defend Poland. But we don't know if the Trump administration would uphold Article 5 of NATO, especially as we've learned in the past 24 hours that Pete Hexa, the Secretary of Defense, was on the verge of pulling American troops out of Europe and out of NATO allied countries.
