"Good morning. It's Thursday, July 3rd, just one day short of the full Fourth of July holiday weekend here in Buffalo. We're going to go ahead and dive right into it. We're going to talk about the Michigan Street Lift Bridge seizure that is being caused by, apparently, the high temperatures that we've been experiencing here in Buffalo for the past couple of days. We're talking like 90 degrees or so. Who knew that on some infrastructure, maybe old infrastructure, heat like that could lock up a lift bridge, but it has. Here's some audio from the efforts to restore that. Anyway, the video goes, I'm sorry, the audio goes on. It covers two days, July 1st, July 2nd. Today is July 3rd, and from what I understand, the bridge is still out. But this audio recording that I'm presenting and have posted at the Buskin website covers the first two days of the crisis. And apparently that was the opening discovery of it, or maybe one of them, because I'm sure it's gone off and on over the course of these past couple of days. Visit buskin.com for that full recording. This was mentioned earlier this week when I showed off the Buffalo Fire Department helmets and hose wagons video. Where they're trying to cool the bridge down using water cannons from a fire hose from a fire boat. I've seen pictures of where this fire boat is stationed, and it's actually sort of parallel to the bridge, so they didn't have to travel far. Anyway, so this is going to be a problem for Buffalo going into the holiday. I don't know how many people actually rely on the bridge to get to downtown, but you got to figure probably probably quite a few. And in any case, people may now be less inclined to go out and enjoy Buffalo activities, of which fireworks will not be one of them if that bridge is down. But who knows? For now, there's not a whole else lot going on except for this. I will talk to you guys on Monday and have yourselves a great holiday weekend."
