I just wonder how long it will take this country to say enough is enough. Todd Blanche and Trump continually spit in the face of the rule of law.
"Hey everybody. Here's a fun photo from the 4th of July. It's Todd Blanche, Donald Trump's nominee for attorney general, wearing a spacesuit of some sort. The logo says NASA. So what is going on here? Well, it's a wild story, so buckle up. According to the Washington Post, one of Donald Trump's billionaire buddies wanted to fly his personal collection of historic aircraft over the National Mall on the 4th of July. This guy named Jared Isaacman is also the administrator of NASA appointed by Donald Trump. Isaacman asked for permission from the FAA, which is the agency that regulates civilian air traffic. The FAA said, no way. Your janky souvenir planes do not meet our safety standards and it would be dangerous to fly them over large crowds of people on the National Mall on the 4th of July. Isaacman didn't like that answer, so he appealed, and again, he was told no. But apparently Isaacman had promised Todd Blanche a ride in one of the planes, and Blanche was really upset that the ride was cancelled. He was so upset, in fact, that he personally complained to Donald Trump about it. Trump told him, just do it, or something to that effect. And fortunately, Isaacman figured out a way around the FAA, which was to ignore them. Isaacman decided to claim that his planes actually belonged to NASA, not to him, and therefore they were not subject to FAA regulation. Even though the plane literally has his name painted on the side of it. Isaacman saved the day. Blanche got his airplane ride and his flight suit, and it was an unforgettable experience according to his Twitter post. The moral of this story is that the corruption and depravity is at every level of decision-making in this administration. Two high-level government officials, including one who runs our space program and one who wants to be the attorney general, are willing to ignore the advice of a federal safety agency so they can have a joyride in an airplane. They are literally prioritizing their own thrills over public safety. You just cannot make this stuff up."
