Same Prostate, Different Disease, Different Surgery!
"Hello, I'm Dr. Urjit Spudar. I'm a cancer cardiologist. So today, let's talk about something very different. So many patients believe that when they have been advised surgery for prostate, it means prostate cancer. No, it's not true. It's a myth. So when a surgery is being done for prostate, it will involve two conditions. It will involve an end-prostate enlargement, in which the prostate grows to size and oxygen will flow, and the surgery done is basically to remove the enlarged lobes from the inside, so as to create a passage-to-passage way in flow. Whereas, when it is prostate cancer, the entire prostate is removed, maybe some lymph nodes in the surrounding area, so as to get rid of the disease. But these two are very different. Every prostate surgery means prostate cancer. So, if you are experiencing any symptoms and you need a PSA, then better consult a urologist for the correct treatment and for understanding your correct treatment. Stay aware, stay healthy. Thank you."
