"There is a new fee coming to the city of Bend and it's all about going green The city of council approved a climate pollution fee. Now what this does is charge builders for installing gas appliances in new homes It doesn't apply to all types of buildings But a vast majority of them will list them on KTVC calm Now the city says this is all about reaching their climate goals lowering emissions and electrifying the city But central organ builders are furious. They strongly oppose this measure They said that the city is adding another cost to new housing in that area already known for sky-high prices And of course this will get put back onto the consumer through the sale Now the fee will be calculated based on home size and type of appliance that hasn't been all worked out just yet But still very controversial though. It has gone through. What are your thoughts? Do you support it? Are you against it and why or why not leave us a comment in the comments below?"
