"There are various financial pressures on schools, lots of economic pressures, lots of business rates relief to those schools who are run by charities. They've had a lot to deal with, really going back to Brexit and then COVID and onwards. It's really, really tough times. In summary, we've never seen a drop as big as this. Children are at the heart of this. Children have had to move schools. Children have had to move from friendship groups, families moving house, the schools. It's really unfortunate that the policy is having those effects with very little discernible improvement to the state sector as a result."
