Did you see Old North Church on TV? Jay O'Brien, a correspondent for ABC News, climbed our steeple while sharing some of Boston's revolutionary history.

"Right here this morning, we're going to turn to Boston next, of course, the city, the spark of the rebellion from the Boston Tea Party to Paul Revere's ride at in Lexington and conquered the shot heard around the world. And J.L. Bryan is live at Old North Church in Boston. J.I. was a reporter in Boston for years at our station, WCVB. And I know exactly where you're standing. What a thrill here this morning. It is a thrill, David, you're exactly right. We're walking in the literal footsteps of the founding fathers heading up to the steeple of Boston's iconic Old North Church. It was here in 1775 that two men, Robert Newman and John Pulling, climbed these exact stairs with lanterns in hand to display this secret signal devised by Paul Revere. One lantern, if the British were heading to Lexington and conquered by land, two if they were going by sea, which meant crossing the Charles River. Those two lanterns get hung and it sets up this network of riders, Paul Revere included, who alert the colonists that the British are on the march. As we walk up here, it's a reminder that it's average people with ordinary acts of courage who built this country. I know that you've now made it to the top of those steps that they climbed in that fateful night. Of course, when Paul Revere warned on that midnight ride that the British were coming. And I understand you might have a couple of lanterns there. We do, David. So as you were watching that, we were climbing stairs. And as you get up here, it's the view all across Boston that strikes you the most. This was the highest point in colonial Boston. It's why they picked it for that secret signal. And we do have that surprise for you. We're joined by Nikki Stewart, director of Old North Illuminated, who has these lanterns for us recreations, but capturing that moment in 1775 that sets the battles of Lexington and conquered in motion. Again, an idea of the historic courage that builds this country, those everyday acts of ordinary people that set in motion the American story. Yeah. Well, if you like those lanterns, I know the people of Boston. They might respond here this morning. So I hope they know that we're just doing a little reenactment. But boy, the history of Boston and the people of New England. So proud. And you know what? They should be. They played such an important role in the founding of our country. Thank you, Jay. And thank you to the team there, letting us see a piece of history."
