"Google Maps in Poland has been attacked by hackers who changed the names of several monuments, historical buildings and hospitals. The Polish Computer Emergency Response Team, known as CERT Poland, submitted numerous reports describing the problem to Google moderators over the weekend. Hooligan's Palace instead of the Presidential Palace, Tomb of the Notorious SS Soldier instead of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and Epstein Island Palace instead of the Palace on the Water are just a few of the altered names that started appearing on the Google map of Warsaw late Saturday evening. In Kraków, the St. John Paul II Hospital was renamed the Hospital of the Victims of John Paul II. Some of the names are vulgar, others reference Polish politicians and their family members. It is currently unclear who is responsible for the operation. CERT Poland has repeatedly observed police names being changed as a joke in the past. And CERT Poland has stated that the situation is being monitored."
