🔴 Russia killed at least 21 people in a massive missile and drone strike on Kyiv and the region, as Ukraine faces a critical shortage of Patriot interceptors to stop the ballistic attacks.
"Russia is launching ballistic missiles to strike Ukrainian cities on a scale never seen before, exploiting Ukraine's critical shortage of Patriot interceptors, the only missiles capable of effectively shooting them down. Last night was a clear example. At least 21 people were killed and dozens, over 70 people were injured, but the numbers are expected to rise since rescue operations are still ongoing. According to officials, Russia deployed 68 missiles and over 350 Shahid-type drones. And although Ukrainian air defence was able to intercept 90% of the drones and almost all of the cruise missiles, none of the ballistic and hypersonic missiles were shot down due to the lack of Patriot missiles. The destruction is widespread and visible across multiple neighbourhoods, including this one, where we can see a lot of residential buildings that were heavily damaged, windows blown out, tens of burnt cars. People are already sweeping and cleaning the area, removing all the glass, using plywood to cover the window frames. This attack comes one day before NATO's summit in Ankara, and President Zelensky said that it's crucial for the US and European partners to leave the summit with strong decisions of strengthening Ukrainian defences, adding that as long as Patriot missiles remain in allied warehouses, Russia is encouraged to keep striking residential areas."
