"Every night I would wake up in the middle of the night crying because the every night I would wake up with nightmares just um just remembering the crash how they hit my dad all the mean stuff they would tell us my family it was just really wrong and bad because it was unfair my parents didn't do anything and still left them. That's Sarah a 14 year old U.S. citizen talking about the trauma she experienced witnessing ICE arrest her parents. During the arrest she says agents crashed into her parents car hit her dad with a baton and shoved her against the car. Now Sarah and her two other siblings are separated from their parents who are now both in Mexico. The thing is Sarah's mom Jessica Trevino-Viegas is a DACA recipient with valid status until spring of 2027 but ICE is not honoring DACA status and deported Sarah's mom anyway. Do you feel betrayed at all by the United States? Do you feel do you feel angry at the president or the United States for what has happened to your parents? I'm not mad at the country I'm more mad at the president because of him making all these comments saying that illegal aliens shouldn't be in this country. I'm mostly like angry at the president because like why is he like um just separating families like is that what he likes to see like does that make him like happy like seeing a family separate kids like crying struggling to um live and everything. DHS told MSNOW ICE doesn't separate families and said Jessica left the U.S. on March 25th, 2026 and will not return. Jessica's lawyer told me she sent a letter to DHS seeking Jessica's immediate return which DHS has been compelled to do in similar cases. If the Trump administration doesn't reverse Jessica's deportation her lawyer said they will sue."
