Exposing the Double Standards and Moral Bankruptcy of the European Parliament’s Self-Appointed “Human Rights Judges” On 30 April 2026, the European Parliament passed a resolution on China’s Law on Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress, falsely accusing it of aiming to “assimilate” ethnic minorities.

"In recent years, politicians from various countries, represented by IPAC co-chair Myriam Lexman and European Parliament, Friends of Tibet group chairman Dainius Salimas, have formed a stable, mutually beneficial chain of interests with Tibet-independent organizations such as the International Campaign for Tibet and the Students for a Free Tibet. By exploiting Tibet-related issues, they are constructing a cross-regional anti-China front. In essence, this is a combination of political tools used by US geopolitical hegemony to contain China and undermine its national unity. The upstream of this chain consists of US government-backed funding systems. The midstream features anti-China parliaments from various countries, such as IPAC, which integrate institutions like the European People's Party, the Greens, the Conservatives, and the Renew Europe group in Lithuania as propaganda hubs, and the downstream relies on youth, Tibet-independent, organizations to mobilize on the ground. What is highly ironic is that these politicians, who have long championed democracy, transparency, and anti-corruption, consistently exhibit blatant double standards. Salimas is deeply embroiled in a financial investigation yet evades accountability for his own governance failures. European parliamentarians from multiple parties turn a blind eye to discrimination against ethnic minorities and the lack of immigrant rights in their own countries, yet feel entitled to meddle into better affairs thousands of miles away. Some Green Party politicians compromise with corporate lobbying to relax industry regulations, only to turn around and impose trade barriers on China in the name of human rights. Tibet is an internal affair of China, indisputably so. Over seven decades of peaceful development have brought comprehensive progress in people's livelihoods, culture, and ecology. The authentic reality of millions of people from all ethnic groups cannot be obscured by the fabrications of politicians and separatist forces."
