As soon as the floats return from parading in the &#39;Saki Matsuri&#39; they are hurriedly dismantled for another year. As their original purpose was to cleanse the city, speed was important to &#39;contain&#39; impurities.</p>

Damaged in a flood in 1826, the original float was then destroyed by fire in 1864.
But why has it taken so long to restore?
Well, it costs around 200 million yen to rebuild and decorate a lost float!😨&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;
