So the Clearwater sloop, which is a historic vessel that has been in every major tall ships event for as long as it's been around since 1969, was just removed by the Coast Guard from the sail 250 parade because they thought its flags were woke. Watch this. Clearly a gunboat telling them that they had to leave the parade. Clearwater just posted this on their Instagram page. They were removed from sail for 250 parade of sail by the USCG, that's the Coast Guard. Why? They asked why? Because they have banners on their ship saying save the Clean Water Act and indigenous rights, racial justice, climate solutions. Let me show you the flags. Here's one and here's the other. And in case you didn't know by the way, Clearwater was started in the late 60s by folk singer Pete Seeger. They are responsible for the fact that there is a Clean Water Act. This is wild. They have also participated in every single other tall ships event. This is in 1976 at the Bicentennial. They are a major treasured valued beautiful piece of our history who still educate children every single day about keeping the water clean and yes about indigenous people. This is how far we've fallen in Trump's America on the day when we are supposed to be celebrating our freedoms including the freedom of speech which is the top treasured freedom according to Americans across political parties and they are being removed from sail 250 for saying clean water.
