She's not an orphan at age 24, both her parents are still alive. And she has four younger siblings who all kind of get her crap in the wrong way. Michael, Eric, Elwin, and Fawn are fantastic siblings and I enjoy writing them too. If you enjoy adult heroines who don't have ridiculous power scaling montages that make them way OP, this is also the book for you. The shapeshifting has been compared to Nimona, which was a huge, huge honor for me. And yes, this is queer, by the way, so not only is he a shapeshifter that becomes plants and animals, he also, they have some kissy scenes when, you know, town's a woman too.
