With the month of June coming to an end we said goodbye to a remarkable public servant as Bernie Flynn retired as the CEO of Mercer Street Friends. I’ve been fortunate to count on his advice over the years, and it’s a privilege to look back at all of the great progress.
"As most of you know, I have spent some time working on the fight against food insecurity, and there could be no better friend than Bernie Flynn when it comes to that. He embodies all of the best of someone who has a lifetime full of success and has taken that and instead of channeling it into improving his golf game, he channeled it into the proving the lives of the people of Mercer County and in Trenton. So Bernie, thank you for what you have done. It has been a privilege to watch you work, to see all that you have accomplished and the difference that you have made. He is somebody who embodies what I think we all hope to do in our retirement and that is to care and to continue to care and to make difference in people's lives. So Bernie, it's been a privilege to know you, to watch your work, to hail your success and to, I dare say, call your friend. Thank you very much."
