Without realizing it Fox News showed what the Great American State Fair could have been when it featured a carnival at Ft. Campbell, KY. The military event was a colorful collection of rides, cotton candy, funnel cakes and games. I've included clips from both.

But what really stands out is who is out here. These are military families, people who know better than anyone what it means to defend this country and the freedoms that we are celebrating today. Everyone out here is standing in the National Mall because for the last 10 to 15 minutes, we had an F-35 jet that was doing a demonstration in the skies. It was awesome. We're supposed to have the US Air Force Thunderbirds coming within the next 10 minutes or so, but we'll see if we can chat with a few people here real quick.
