#Putin presents Russia’s #Oreshnik missile system as a symbol of terrifying precision and unstoppable power. Reality seems to be slightly less cinematic. Instead of rewriting the rules of warfare, this “wonder weapon” appears more interested in discovering random garages on the outskirts of #Kyiv.
"On January 8, 2026, Russia struck Lviv with an Oreshnik missile. Consequently, the fragments were located and submitted for examination. The photo shows a gyroscope, a device used for missile spatial orientation during flight. The problem is that this gyroscope is outdated. Due to the inability to upgrade it, it has an error margin of 0.5 degrees, which can result in a deviation of dozens of kilometers from the target. Russia is capable of modernizing it, but this would be a long-term and cost prohibitive endeavor. If we want to prevent this, the international community must increase sanctions and reduce trade with the killer state."
