Beligns us to the options and to perspectives that include both options. It isolates and simplifies categories, removes all nuance and complicated middle ground from discussions, from thinking. It is closely linked to perfectionism and one right way thinking that makes it impossible to learn from our mistakes. Nordic culture was remarkable in its lack of binary thinking. The gods and the yodanar were like two different categories of spirits. While they had conflict, they also weren't entirely isolated. They intermarried and one would start out as the yodan and then become a god. And there was this dynamic web of interrelationships in Nordic mythology. The Nordic way of thinking warns about setting things into direct conflict and separating from each other. Then we'll go more into how either or thinking creates entropic systems, systems that exist in isolation.
