A riddle wrapped in an enigma inside a fart joke. Dogberry and Burgess Are Scared is a play based on the two clowns from Shakespeare's comedy Much Ado About Nothing. We follow these two guys as they bumble their way through the plot of Shakespeare's famous comedy. We've lovingly ripped off Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Apologies to his estate. Way, way fewer fart jokes in his. Surprisingly. Surprisingly fewer fart jokes. Mike and I played Dogberry and Burgess in a production of Much Ado About Nothing at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. And we were fast friends from the table read on. We are what our wives refer to as comedy soulmates. Yes. People were walking up to us after the first read through and they're like, how long have you guys known each other? And we're like 45 minutes. Yeah. So it was just a natural progression for us to want to create something. This production had humble and scrappy beginnings at the Philly Fringe Festival last year. Luckily to rave reviews and boisterous audiences. It's been such an exciting experience getting to bring this play both in front of workshop audiences and then in front of Philadelphia audiences. So that by the time it lands here in Sensei before it takes off to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, it's a really polished, tight, well practiced piece of theater. There's Shakespeare in jokes galore, but also it's really, really easy to follow if you don't know much ado at all. And if you hate it, it's short. Beautifully short."
