🧐 AI in schools: Ban it, mandate it, or invest in it? Norway is limiting children's access to generative AI and bringing back printed books. China is embedding AI into education from kindergarten. While Poland is rolling out AI labs to around 12,000 schools before September @tvpworld.bsky.social

"Norway is hitting the brakes on AI in schools. After years of integrating digital stuff in the classroom, Norwegians understood one thing. The screens hadn't really helped their kids. Starting this August, children under 13 will be banned from using generative AI entirely. The country is even increasing funding for traditional books and printed materials to move away from screens. Oslo's bet, sometimes the most modern move, is to go backward. Now go to the opposite end of the world, and the opposite end of the philosophy. China isn't restricting AI in schools, it's mandating it. Beijing's new AI Plus Education Plan folds artificial intelligence into classrooms from kindergarten. The goal isn't caution, it's competitiveness. Building an AI-literate generation before anyone else does. And then there's Poland, perhaps not as radical as Xi's policies in China, but the government is rolling out AI labs to roughly 12,000 schools before September, a nearly half a billion euro investment."

Even if genAI wasn’t the devils work for making you lazy, they should learn the harder way, that way the learning sticks.
