"You would never stand over the tailpipe of a car breathing in the pollution, and yet we stand over our stoves day after day, week after week, breathing the same pollutants. Electrification is one of the fastest and most effective ways to improve our health today while giving us the livable planet that we all want. And it's really not a technology question. It's a question of political will and awareness and speed. Pollution for Health is a new and exciting program at Stanford where we're really taking evidence and research and turning it into action. We document the pollution entering people's homes, trying to build a consensus to replacing fossil fuel appliances with cleaner electric ones. We're helping to establish new standards and guidelines for cleaner air indoors. We're helping to provide incentives for people so that they can afford to change appliances if they don't have the means to do so. We aren't doing this alone, but in partnership with communities. What do communities want and how can we help leverage all of this evidence into meaningful impacts in people's everyday lives?"
