CTV News ran a segment debunking World Cup AI slop -- including that viral video of Erling Haaland "scared by his own reflection while eating"
"Okay, first of all go figure what goes viral in today's world that happened to go virally get scared at his own shadow isn't real No, no, it's not now, you know Erling Holland has obviously soared in popularity throughout the World Cup because of his his play on the pitch and also he has A very active social media presence So it's no surprise that people are looking to take advantage of that this particular video is not real We noticed our team immediately some irregularities if you look for example at his ear It's a different shape a different structure than what you would see in the millions of real Authentic photos and videos that do exist, you know of a star of his magnitude So that tipped us off, you know And then it's just a matter of again plugging into these tools We actually in this case use an AI detection tool meant to check for face swaps in videos Came back positive that it was indeed altered with AI and with a few keyword searches We found the original video. It was posted by a Chinese contact to me Chinese content creator You know featuring him not Erling Holland"
