The country with the richest people in the world isn't the US or Switzerland #personalfinance #medianwealth #economicfacts

๐ŸŽค Whisper Transcript (en) โฑ 79s

"Which country's people hold the most wealth in the world? Not the US, not Switzerland. The two names everyone assumes are the richest. The actual number one will surprise you. This isn't GDP per capita, the number people usually confuse it with. This is the wealth a typical adult actually owns. Ranked number four is Australia, where a typical adult holds $247,000. Ranked number three is Belgium, slightly higher, at $250,000 per person. Ranked number two is Luxembourg, a country of just 660,000 people, with median wealth of $361,000 per person, one and a half times Belgium's. The US, the richest country in the world by GDP, has a median wealth per person of just $107,739. And ranked number one is Iceland, at $413,193, nearly four times the average American. The US is the richest country by total wealth, but a typical American ranks outside the global top 10, behind Canada, France, and even Taiwan."
