Are Alphonso Davies's days at Bayern Munich numbered?
"I think the Davies situation is fascinating right now because he's got a long-term contract. He's actually only two years older than Nathaniel Brown, but they've had very different careers. Obviously Davies has been a world-class defender since what the age of like 18. So even though he's only 25, he's been playing top-level football at the highest speed at the highest intensity for five or six seasons now. And as you said, injuries are beginning to pile up a little bit for him. And even before the injuries, he wasn't particularly looking like his old world-class self. So I think you can easily see why someone like Nathaniel Brown has been brought into not only potentially replacing him, but maybe put some pressure on him. But Davies does have that long-term contract, so it's not as if Bayern will be happy with him sitting on the bench for the next four years either. I mean, I'm sure there'll be plenty of offers for him if he has to get over his injuries, but I think it's going to be a really, I'm fascinated by how that's going to play out this season at Bayern Munich because if Davies is back and he is fit, there's no reason why he shouldn't be playing. Bayern just signed Nathaniel Brown, so it's going to be really interesting."
