"A significant day in court in the preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson, who's accused of killing political activist Charlie Kirk. Prosecutors introducing a highly anticipated video interview along with text messages and chats between Robinson and his roommate. At the time, Kirk was killed last year. New specialist Daniel Woodruff in the courtroom joins us live right now with the details on this Daniel busy day. Yeah, we really was Mike and it really took a while to get to this point, but the prosecution was able to get the judge here in this case to admit this video interview and text messages into evidence and then publicly display all of that for the courtroom to see. Prosecutors showed text messages between Tyler Robinson and his former roommate and romantic partner Lance Twiggs the day that Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at Utah Valley University last September. In those messages, Robinson told Twiggs that he's the one that did it, saying that he had had enough of Kirk's, quote, hatred. Robinson told his roommate in the text that he had been planning it for a little over a week. He also told Twiggs to delete the text messages that the two were sharing. Now, in a video interview with investigators, Twiggs spoke about seeing Robinson at their home in St. George the day after Kirk was shot. So he acted erratically. Was he pacing? Was he just sitting down, relaxing? No, he was walking around a lot. Right, and that's within the home? Mm-hm. And did he talk about what he had done? Didn't go into detail. I just asked him in person what he said was true the night before and he said it was. He started crying a little bit and said he wishes he hadn't done it and then kept going around and just doing stuff, I think, to keep himself busy or distracted or something. Tyler Robinson eventually turned himself into authorities. In the courtroom today, we also saw a Discord chat where Robinson told a group of friends that he was the one responsible for killing Kirk at UVU. And in court, we saw a handwritten note from Robinson to Twiggs where he said that he had a chance to take out Charlie Kirk and took it, saying that he felt it was necessary. Now, defense attorneys for Tyler Robinson had objected to all of that evidence being shown publicly and in the courtroom. But the judge ultimately decided in favor of showing it. The defenses consistently said they want to make sure Robinson gets a fair trial. Attorneys for the media and the Kirk family had argued in favor of the public seeing that evidence. Now, this preliminary hearing has gone on now four days. One more day is scheduled for tomorrow before the judge decides whether this case will move to trial. In Provo, Daniel Woodruff, Live at 5."
