"How much money did I make tabling at designer con? Let's start with how much money I spent. A full table was $400, but I split this with my very good friend, India, who makes all of the figurines you're going to see in this video. So my half of the table was $200. I spent $38.24 on food and caffeine, $30 on parking and $62.11 on packaging supplies. I also spent about $182 on t-shirts and screen printing supplies. This is a super loose number because I brought 42 shirts to the show and I left with 36 of them. So I had a lot of stock left over to sell on my e-commerce site. That brings my total cost to $512.35. Now, before I reveal how much money I made, I wanted to make it explicitly clear that I am not asking for your advice. Art has been my sole income since 2019, which I think is an amazing achievement and I probably know more about this than you do. The reason I'm making this video is because I wanted to give y'all a realistic view of what the numbers actually look like for an unsuccessful convention weekend. Tabling is so expensive and it is so easy to blink and spend way more money than you make. I have been in artist alleys where most of the people do not make their table costs back. So I am always very grateful when I walk away in the green at all. I made $1,007 at DesignerCon. If you subtract how much I spent, I am left with $494.65. It has been many, many years since my numbers have been this low. I am usually leaving somewhere in the five to 15K range but this show was not a failure for me at all. I'm noticing that the video's already getting kind of long. I will make a part two to explain why I didn't think this was a failure if enough people ask."
