I visited Martha’s Kitchen in San Jose yesterday to help serve dinner. Food kitchens like this have become even more important due to policies in Republicans’ Big Ugly Law, which slashed food assistance for over 4 million Americans. We must reverse these cuts.

"Congresswoman Zoe Loughgren stops by Martha's Kitchen in San Jose this evening. Martha's open in San Jose just last year and it provides free meals and support to anyone in need. The Trump administration has repeatedly attacked programs like food stamps, leaving food banks and community kitchens like Martha's to fill the need. Loughgren says she's working to help any way she can. I'm here to listen, to let them know I'm grateful for their support and to promise that hopefully we'll turn the corner next year and get back to some sane policies. You know, they want a trillion and a half dollars for the Department of Defense, but we don't have enough money to feed hungry people. Martha's Kitchen says it provides over 2.2 million meals a year across all its programs. It's open from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. every week, Monday through Friday."
