Managing Williams's workload for peak performance for #dallascowboys youtube.com/LockedOnCowboys
"it's about keeping him fresh for the moments when you really need him when the weather gets cold and playoffs start. Yeah, and we saw the numbers decline, not a ton, but enough that I think it's notable. In the first two months of the season, Gervonta Williams was averaging about 5.1 yards per carry, okay? From November to January, it was down to four and a half. Now, four and a half is not bad by any stretch, and if you look at the success rate numbers, it's pretty close, but you weren't seeing as many big runs. You were seeing him, really, you just saw a player that did not look healthy, and I think a lot of that is he was being used in every situation, early down running back, short yardage running back, goal line running back. He was the best pass blocking running back on the team, and there were a lot of times that he was sacrificing his body to take on a bigger player as a pass blocker. I think they've got to find somebody that can take some of the wear and tear off of him."
