Across our delis, you'll find a brand new lineup of cakes, buns, and salads on counters. Melissa, Head Pastry Chef at Ottolenghi Chelsea walks us through a few of her favourites; swing by and try them for yourself.
"Hi, I'm here outside of Alengi in Chelsea and we're launching, across the company, our new spring menu, new cakes, new salads, new everything. I'm super proud of it and I just wanted to share it with everyone and I'm gonna go inside and try all those wonderful new things. Talk about the buns first. New selection of buns. A Boston Cream Bun, which is like a butterscotch custard, chocolate ganache, a little bit of flaky sea salt and some caramelized rice krispies. We've got a pomegranate and raspberry bun and then the last one is a Yuzu Lime Curd Bun. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's talk about these. This one is chocolate cake with a milk chocolate ganache, black currant mascarpone cream and black currant compote with blackberries. And then this one, which is one of my favorites, is a pandan chiffon cake. The lightness, but this has got this mango and raspberry cream. Something totally new, I'm impressed, so yeah. Amazing."
