And this is what he's doing to Cuba

🎀 Whisper Transcript (en) ⏱ 136s

"briefly spell out, because people have heard of the blockade of Cuba, people know it's been around for decades, you've described US policy towards Cuba as, quote, sadistic and depraved, strong word. It's really bad right now, like Donald Trump is really squeezing Cuba with the oil embargo, especially after what happened in Venezuela, you know, power outages, I think it's something like 20 hours a day in some parts of the country, 16,000 patients in Cuba need a radiotherapy, unable to get it. Just break down for us how bad it is and what you saw how bad it was when you went. Yeah, and you know, I was there 10 years ago during the normalization process and there was a huge, there was jubilance on the ground, I was very optimistic under Barack Obama. Yeah. And so for Trump to get in and slap hundreds of new sanctions for Biden to keep those sanctions in place, and then for Trump to exacerbate the sanctions and really tighten that boot on the neck of Cubans, just since 2019, Mehdi, 1800 Cuban infants have died. The infant mortality rate has skyrocketed. This is a result, you know, they call it the El Bloqueo. It's just, it's a term that basically insinuates that it's a genocidal blockade because it is preventing high technology, it's preventing medicine, it's preventing oil. As Trump did the actual oil embargo, we are talking about weeks sometimes at a time without electricity. I mean, just imagine that, imagine not being able to refrigerate medicine, food, meat, hand pumping incubators in the NICU, the most elderly, the most vulnerable population, elderly and young are dying and suffering as a result of this. So, you know, I just want Americans to wrap their mind around how would that impact you in heat of 105 degrees with humidity. You know, you're trying to sleep, you're sick, you're vulnerable or you're diseased, you're in the hospital and you can't get electricity. I mean, it is absolutely sadistic and it is depraved because death is the policy, mass murder is the policy that has been stated for decades to make the Cuban people suffer and overthrow their government."
