If your system is the bottleneck, hiring more people just adds more frustration. Fix the workflow first, or you are simply paying more people to get stuck in the same problems.

"You just hired two new people, but you're still the one putting out all the fire. Sound familiar? I see this all the time. A business owner thinks they have a people problem, so they hire more people. But the real problem is the system. You have a bottleneck, and you just put more cars on that road leading to the bottleneck. Think about it. If your process for onboarding clients is broken, and you hire two more people to run that broken process, you didn't fix anything. You just added two more people to be frustrated by the same broken system. Before you hire another person, ask yourself this. Where is the actual constraint in my workflow? Because if you do not fix the system, you're just paying more people to be stuck in the same traffic jam. My name is Jerry Peterson. Thank you."
